tapefold explores what happens when sound is written into moving magnetic material, then read back downstream.
Erase
Prepare the material for what comes next. Erasure has its own head and drive.
Record
The record field writes a new history into the tape. Drive and bias belong to this part of the machine.
Playback
A separate head reads the material after it travels. The tape carries the connection between them.
The current plugin interface is a workbench: its controls and moving tape are present, while audio passes through unchanged. The physical recording engine is being developed separately. The homepage is an interactive visual preview of that interface.
